First visit: 2000 May 29 to 31, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Jiang Zemin’s invitation, the first unofficial visit to China. Jiang Zemin and Kim Jong Il held talks at the Great Hall. The two leaders in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, the two parties on the further development of bilateral relations and international and regional situation and other major issues of common concern and exchanged views and reached consensus. The two leaders agreed that the international situation is complicated turn of the century, consolidating and developing China-DPRK friendly relations not only the common aspiration of both peoples and the fundamental interests, but also conducive to regional and world peace and stability. Both sides said the two parties and countries will work together to preserve the tradition, facing the future, good-neighborly friendship and strengthening cooperation and constantly enrich the connotation of China-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations, the bilateral friendly relations into the new century, to a new development level.
Gaosuibuyou Thailand second visit to China January 15, 2001 to 20, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Jiang Zemin’s invitation, an unofficial visit to China. This is not only the common aspiration of both peoples and the fundamental interests, but also conducive to regional and world peace, stability and prosperity.
Third visit: 19 April 2004 to 21, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao’s invitation, the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il on an unofficial visit to China. The two leaders briefed each other on the two parties and their respective domestic situations, the two parties on the further development of bilateral relations and international and regional situation and the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and exchanged views and reached broad consensus.
Fourth visit to China: 10 January 2006 to 18, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao’s invitation, the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il on an unofficial visit to China, and In Hubei, Guangdong, Beijing and other provinces and cities visited. During the talks, the two leaders in a warm and candid atmosphere on furthering bilateral relations and the two parties concerned international and regional issues in-depth exchange of views and reached important and extensive consensus.
August 27, 2010, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao in Changchun City, Jilin Province, with the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il held talks.
Fifth visit to China: 2010 May 3 to 7, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao’s invitation, the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il on unofficial visit to China. In Beijing, President Hu Jintao and held talks with Kim Jong Il held a welcoming banquet, Hu Jintao on strengthening the China-DPRK cooperation in five-point proposal. The two sides also discussed the international situation, the situation in Northeast Asia and the Six-party talks frank exchange of views.
Sixth visit: 26 August 2010 to 30, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao’s invitation, the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il unofficial visit to China, and Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province visited. August 27, President Hu Jintao held talks in Changchun with Kim Jong Il. Hu suggested the two sides to strengthen relations between the two parties and two countries focus on doing the three tasks. The two leaders also discussed the Korean Peninsula and the common interest of the international and regional issues in-depth exchange of views.
Seventh visit: May 20, 2011 to 26, the CPC Central Committee General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao’s invitation, the Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary, National Defense Commission Chairman Kim Jong Il unofficial visit to China, and Beijing, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Jiangsu tours. In Beijing, President Hu Jintao and held talks with Kim Jong-il banquet. Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao met with Kim Jong Il. Politburo Standing Committee member Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang were met with Kim Jong Il, guided tours or participate in related activities.
